Elevation and difference maps for each of the 14 quadrangles used in the study are portrayed here. The elevation maps use the 30 meter DEMs and employ various color schemes. Colors on different images do not indicate equivalent elevations.
Difference is defined as:
Zdiff = [3 arc second elevation] - [30m bilinearly interpolated elevation]
On the following difference maps, red indicates stronger postive values for Zdiff, meaning that the 3 arc second value is larger than the 30m estimate. Blue indicates negative values for Zdiff, which means that the 3 arc second value is smaller than the 30m estimate. White are areas in which the difference is close to zero.
An absolute color scale was used to indicate differences for all difference maps, so these can be compared directly.
13 of the 14 quads have both an untransformed difference map and a transformed one using the coefficients which reduced the RMSE the most.
